This basically feels like Christmas to me, LOL (and I'm not overdramatic whatsoever).
So this is what I purchased to qualify for the gift (you have to spend at least $21.50):
Clarifying lotion #3, Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion, Line Smoothing concealer in Moderately Fair
I've been holding off mentioning this in any of my posts because I felt it was most appropriate here. I'm in love with Clinique's skincare! I started with samples of the Clarifying lotion #2 and Dramatically Different lotion a couple of weeks ago, and my skin has pretty much cleared up. I frequently break out in my t-zone (almost always have at least one pimple between my eyebrows, on my chin) but since using the toner and moisturizer, my skin's been clear. I bought the full size Clarifying lotion #3 instead of the sample I was using which was a #2, because the #2 was a little irritating for my skin. I later found out from a Clinique consultant that the #2 is the only toner that has menthol in it, making it a little more irritating than the others. So I switched to the #3 and I'm liking this a lot better. Typically, if you're a #3 in the 3-step range you're supposed to go with the Dramatically Different gel, but I liked the lotion and don't really feel like my skin is oily (just mildly in my t-zone).
I was really on the fence about buying a full-sized Dramatically Different lotion, because I was convinced it wasn't any better than other regular lotions I've found at the drugstore. But since my skin hasn't been this clear in ages, I decided to just buy it. I really love the way it makes my skin feel, though, and it's super lightweight and non-greasy.
To be honest, I was pretty skeptical about the entire 3-step range, the toner included. I've read countless times that toners are a waste of money and don't do much good. I don't know much about skincare and don't claim to, but this has really worked for me. I'm still just using my Aveeno cleanser (Positively Radiant brightening cleanser- I'll do an updated skincare routine post shortly and talk about this!) because I couldn't rationalize spending $16 on a "liquid face soap"- so I'm not doing the "official 3-step" routine, but I guess it's close!
I'll be sure to update you with how I like this routine!
Phew, and finally the Line Smoothing concealer. This is one of the best concealers I've tried for under eyes that's cheap, covers well, and doesn't settle into my creases. I'll definitely post more about this in the future.
This is the gift-with-purchase. You get a Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion (1oz), Moisture Surge gel-creme (1oz), High-Impact mascara in Black, Different lipstick in Tenderheart (0.14oz), Instant Lift for Brows in Soft Blonde, and an eyeshadow duo/blush mini palette.
I initially wasn't thrilled with the colors included (Tenderheart looks very brown and the blonde eyebrow pencil won't suit everyone), but actually they work better than I thought. The brow pencil is double-sided so I can use the shimmery end for inner corner/browbone highlight, and Tenderheart leans more brick red on my lips. I actually really like it, LOL.
Overall, I'm just thrilled with the things I got from Clinique- especially as it's been SO LONG since I've bought something from them. I've also been ridiculously frugal with my money recently (I'm going back to school soon and will once again be a poor college student!), so getting something new is, like, BOMB. Haha.
Thanks for reading, like always. xox
