Happy St. Patrick's Day to those of you who celebrate! Downtown Chicago goes all out for this holiday, and if you live here you'll know exactly what I'm talking about- we dye the river green, do the obligatory parade, and basically everyone comes out to celebrate. My roommates and I went over to the parade and then to see the river, and there are so many people out that it's hard to walk! I wish I had my camera so I could have taken some pictures of the funny costumes- some guy die their beards green, spray paint themselves, and most everyone is wearing one of those plastic green top hats.
I wore some green but didn't go all out like most people (I'm definitely in the minority here!). You know I had to do green makeup, though. I actually tested out both of these eye looks yesterday and wore a variation of the first one today.
#1:
This is a bunch of chartreuse green with a deeper, olive-brown in the outer corner to make it more wearable. I really like how this one turned out! The OCC pigment is a little funky to work with, but it ended up balancing out the matte shade I used all over the lid from my Coastal Scents palette.
Primer: UDPP Original
Base: Mary Kay Eyesicles cream eyeshadow in Bigger
Eyeshadows: Coastal Scents 88 eyeshadow palette (matte yellowed green & shimmery light green)
OCC loose color concentrate in Wasabi (shimmery chartreuse green)
Victoria's Secret eyeshadow single in Beloved (deep, shimmery olive-brown)
theBalm Cast Your Shadow palette, Wild Child (shimmery pale yellow- to highlight)
Eyeliner: Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips eyeliner, Black
Mascara: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes!
#2:
This look leans much more to the blue side of the spectrum, but is still in the green family (though my camera makes it look very teal in these pictures!). Can you tell I didn't feel like doing a straight up kelly green look? :)
Primer: UDPP Original
Base: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Eyeshadows: MAC Lustreleaf (shimmery light green-leans a little blue)
Kiss My Sass Nessie (medium blue-green)
Meow Cosmetics Deranged (deep teal blue)
Urban Decay Virgin (pale vanilla- to highlight)
Eyeliner: Victoria's Secret Dark Forest
Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber
Thanks for reading and have a fun, safe St. Patrick's Day! :)
