I don't know about all of you, but I often find black eyeliner to be a bit too much for everyday wear. I mean, sure, it's great to have as a staple- you really can't go wrong with a good black liner! However, I love to have my alternative colors for when I'm feeling a little more... soft and feminine?
Eyeliner is arguably one of my most favorite makeup products. It does seriously amazing things for your eyes and there are so many different ways to apply it; that being said, no matter your makeup preference you can work eyeliner into your everyday routine (thicken the line, thin the line, wing the line, it's up to you!). And as with every makeup product, it can come in a gazillion different shades and finishes. My favorite shades outside of black would have to be either a deep bronze-brown or a plummy purple. Needless to say when I stumbled upon this Revlon ColorStay eyeliner in Blackberry, I continuously asked it, "Where have you been all of my life?" It is now among my go-to eyeliners for those days in which black is just too harsh!

Revlon ColorStay eyeliner in Blackberry (between $5 and $6 at major drugstores)
I actually had never heard of this shade before purchasing it over winter break. I was perusing the aisles of my local Target in desperate need of a new neutral purple eyeliner when I saw it- "Blackberry?" I thought to myself, "you must come home with me today." And the rest is history. Well, honestly, the rest is my continued love affair with this versatile little product.
As you can see, Blackberry is your typical retractable pen style of eyeliner- you can twist it up and down with use. I didn't know this until just recently, but it actually has a hidden sharpener in the cap- pretty cool, right? Does anyone know anything about this? Mine doesn't have one, but the websites I found online said there is a "pull out sharpener" included in the cap. I'm not sure if mine just doesn't have it or that's wrong? Thanks so much! Thank you Sarah! She had the brilliant idea of seeing if it was hidden in the end of the pencil. And it is, she's brilliant (picture to come when my camera battery charges!). ;) I typically prefer pencils to retractable pens (even though you lose a lot of product sharpener pencils), but this one is convenient- the pen doesn't swivel down unless you do it manually, and the tip is small enough to achieve thick or thinner lines.
I'm in love with the shade of Blackberry, which I would describe as a deep amethyst purple with fine gold shimmer. The shimmer isn't overwhelming, though, so it remains really wearable for daytime. I just absolutely love how flattering this color is and it makes for an ideal alternative to your standard black liner. I know I've already said that a million times in this post, but it's true! And the purple isn't PURPLE so it goes with a variety of different shades (I've worn this with purple-toned eyeshadows, greens, browns, taupes, golds).
In terms of lasting abilities, I don't have any problems with Blackberry smudging or migrating on me throughout the day; however, I do experience mild fading. I usually go over the line a few times to deepen the shade if I'm going out at night. It's not a big issue for me, though, and I definitely still think it's a fabulous quality product for the price you pay.
I'm actually wearing Blackberry today, so see the picture below for how it looks in action:

I'd definitely check out this eyeliner if you are in the market for one that doesn't budge, has great pigmentation, and comes in a super flattering shade of amethyst that should work on a variety of skin tones.
Have you guys tried this product or another one of Revlon's ColorStay eyeliners? What is your favorite alternative to black eyeliner? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your recommendations or anything else you'd like to share!
Thanks for reading, like always. <3
