Yes, it has actually taken me until now to try one of the infamous new Revlon Lip Butters. Sigh. It was that product that I passed by a countless number of times and intended to purchase but just never got around to it. However, with spring trends practically screaming for BRIGHT LIPS!, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try this little guy. The lip butter I purchased is in the shade Lollipop, which is a bright fuschia pink with slight shimmer.
Side note: This is more of a picture/swatch post, as I haven't worn this enough to form a valid opinion of the wear time/quality. My first impression is positive, but you can never be so sure!
Why did I decide to look to Revlon Lip Butters for my newest bright lip color? From the hundreds of reviews I have read so far, they have the pigmentation of a lipstick but feel like a lip balm (many have reported they are not terribly moisturizing; this is something I'm not sure of for myself yet). Honestly, I'm terrified of "WOW!" shades of lipstick- I can rock a deep berry and that's about as far into dangerous territory I venture. I thought that something of this nature might be easier to wear, and if nothing else, wouldn't feel as scary on as it looked from the tube.
Swatches:
How do I like it so far? It's a great shade of fuschia for spring! Like I said, I just purchased this yesterday so I don't have a grasp on how long it wears or how moisturizing it can be. I do love how it provides full color coverage and looks incredibly glossy. The only downside I've found lies in its packaging- I hate the way to bullet is shaped. I prefer more of a dome for application, as I find this shape makes it hard to get into smaller areas of your lips. That being said, I'm definitely going to take a peek at some of the other bright shades Revlon Lip Butters have to offer.
What say you? Which other colors would you recommend I try? Or, if you had a negative experience with these lip butters, feel free to share them in the comments!
