Tarina Tarantino Beauty swatches & review (Dollskin Cheek blush & Eye Dream Hyperliners)

A little while ago, I was contacted by some of the lovely people at Tarina Tarantino Beauty about testing out a few products.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the brand featured on Hautelook and been intrigued by the gorgeous products/packaging- not to mention the overwhelmingly positive reviews I’ve read from fellow bloggers.  So, I was quite curious to see how Tarina Tarantino would work for me.

I’ll make it known right now that I’m really enjoying it all.  Continue on to see more photos, swatches and my reviews on the Dollskin Cheek Blush in Feather, and two Eye Dream Hyperliner Eyeliners in Ultraviolet and Puppeteer.

First up is one of their powder blushes, the Dollskin Cheek Blush ($25.00/0.2oz) in the shade Feather.  Feather is described as a “shimmering peach,” which I’d say is pretty accurate- it’s a nice balance of pink and coral but definitely leans more to the peach side on my skin.  You can see in my swatches there is a subtle shimmer throughout, but when applied on cheeks the effect is more of a “glow” than that “OMG she was dipped in glitter” look.  I really like the finish AND the color- on days I wear this my skin looks extra fresh and bright!

As for the quality: the color lasts on my normal-dry skin throughout a normal 8-hour work day, and then shows slight signs of fading after that (I’ll touch it up if I’m going out somewhere at night).  This blush is super soft and blendable, and the color is pretty forgiving.  It’s better to use a light hand, but you won’t be left with clown cheeks if you go a bit overboard!

From L-R: Puppeteer, Ultraviolet

Next are two of Tarina’s Eye Dream Hyperliners ($15.00/0.04oz) in the shades Puppeteer and Ultraviolet:

Puppeteer is described as a “dark brown with bronze shimmer” and has become one of my favorite brown eyeliners in a long time.  It’s gorgeous on the lower lash line especially, as its deep and rich enough to give your eyes definition, but not so much that it overwhelms.

Ultraviolet is a “metallic, almost black plum.”  I cannot get enough of blackened purple shades like this!  They pop on green and brown eyes, and are a fabulous alternative to your standard black/brown.

Applying these eyeliners is heavenly- no exaggeration.  They glide across the lash line beautifully, no tugging, pulling, etc. so you’ll never have to worry about creating an even line.  They’re also waterproof (yay!), so once they set, they’re not going to move around.  I’ve only tested these with a primer underneath and both shades last all day/into the night without a problem; no creasing/smudging issues.  I don’t normally wear eyeliner on the waterline, so I unfortunately can’t say how long they last there, but for normal upper/lower lash line wear these are fantastic.  Definitely comparable to Urban Decay 24/7 pencils and the like.  Love!

Here’s a look I did using both shades- Ultraviolet is on my upper lash line and Puppeteer is smudged into my lower lash line:

Both of the products mentioned can be purchased via the Tarina Tarantino website: HERE for the Dollskin Cheek Blush, and HERE for the Eye Dream Hyperliners.  They also pop up on Hautelook from time to time, so be sure to check there often!  I usually tweet about the sales when they go live- be sure to check out my social media links in my sidebar.

Have you tried anything from Tarina Tarantino Beauty?  I’d love to know in the comments.  Thanks so much for reading and have a great rest of your weekend!
